Description
Vintage perfume bottle Devon Violets made in Great Britain by one of the Torquay Pottery craftsmen. A hand painted purple violet with a bud and green stems on the front. The back reads “Devon Violets”. Off white background with a green stripe on the bottom, one around the neck and along the top rim. Shiny glaze.The bottom is marked – “Made in Great Britain” Secondary stamp seems to indicate the Axe Vale Pottery
The Axe Vale (Devon) Pottery Ltd.
was established in the Axe Vale near Axminster Devon in the 1950’s by
Tom Sherrif
who had previously worked at the Honiton Pottery as a mould maker. Some-time later the pottery moved to Beer in Devon where production continued despite some difficulties

Violets were grown in Devon and made into perfumes and sold in these darling little handmade bottles.
Good condition. No chips, cracks or problems. The cork stopper is missing.
Cute as can be. A wonderful gift or lovely memento to grace your bedroom vanity.
