5 Victorian Hair Art Flowers Circa Late 1800's. The 2 larger flowers are 2" - 3" across. The 3 Smaller ones are approximately 1" across. They were made from human hair, that was woven, braided, and coiled to make flowers, jewelry, Love Tokens and hair wreaths. Hair was collected from friends, family & church members. Often made into horseshoe wreaths, (open at the top) to allow the spirit to ascend heavenward. Victorian hair art was a popular form of an artistic memorial for loved ones. Patterns were available to copy using their own hair or hair from a loved one who had passed. Hair Are pieces are very fragile. These 4 flowers are in exceptionally good condition. 5 Victorian Hair Art Flowers
