Description
For your consideration: an Art Deco perfume bottle Les Glycines by Gueldy, France, introduced in 1922. Gueldy was established in 1905, and produced a long list of perfumes up until the 1930s. The company won the Gold Medal at the 1925 Paris Exposition. The very modern design was ahead of its time, as it looks relevant even today. It comes nestled in a drop front box presentation. The bottle is in excellent condition, with the stopper having very minor flea bite chips seen in photo # 10. The box is very good condition, with a small tear on the gold paper platform that holds the bottle in place. See photos.Another eBayer has written to me saying that the box belonged to a different perfume and scent. I have googled this information and although similar, the box that is shown here houses the bottle perfectly. The original Gueldy label at the top of the box is just about perfect. The other scent bottle has a label inside the lower flap and the space holding the other scent is recessed, as opposed to this one being raised on a platform. Is it possible that different perfumers used a common supplier for the box presentations which then
customized labels and platforms to nestle the bottle? Please be sure to view all photos.
Marked on the bottom of the bottle: Baccarat acid stamp logo. Bottle measures 3 5/8 w x 3" h x 1 1/4" d
