Available for immediate purchase is this lovely, 1950s vintage, approximately
five percent
full, guaranteed original and authentic, made in the USA, Wind Song perfume splash housed in a green enameled crown figural glass bottle with glass stopper and gilded overlay in a dainty 0.50-ounce (1/2 ounce or 15ml) size by Prince Matchabelli. This bottle does have some expected aging and wear (see photos); however, it is in excellent condition for its age. Only a smidgen of the fragrance remains. All photos were taken in natural light at
40x magnification
to best highlight overall item condition. The buyer will receive the exact item pictured.
Prince Matchabelli Corporate History
1924: Prince Georges Matchabelli and Princess Norina Matchabelli found Les Parfums du Prince Matchabelli.
1926:
Prince Matchabelli Perfumery Company is established.
1931: The Matchabellis divorce.
1935: Prince Matchabelli dies.
1936: Prince Matchabelli is sold to Saul Ganz (D. Lizner & Co.) and his son, Paul, is appointed president.
1941: Prince Matchabelli is sold to Vicks Chemical Company.
1958: Prince Matchabelli is sold to Chesebrough-Ponds.
1986: Chesebrough-Ponds is acquired by Unilever.
1993: The Chesebrough-Ponds division of Unilever sells Prince Matchabelli to Parfums de Coeur, Ltd.
2012: Parfums de Coeur is acquired by Yellow Wood Partners, a private equity firm, and renamed PDC Brands. The Prince Matchabelli product line is discontinued.
Originally launched in 1953, Wind Song
is classified as a floral fragrance and features top notes of coriander, orange leaf, mandarin orange, tarragon, neroli, bergamot, and lemon; middle notes of cloves, carnation, orris root, jasmine, ylang-ylang, rose, and Brazilian rosewood on a base of
sandalwood, amber, musk, benzoin, vetiver, and cedar.
